Lush Announces NYC Date

The Lush reunion slowly moves forward as the British alt-rock band reveals a September 2016 date in New York.  Presales begin today while general onsales launch later this week.

Some reunions arrive with a full press contingent trumpeting the good news while others surface via individual date announcements.  For Lush, it’s the latter, having previously announced it will play London’s Roundhouse in May – a one-night stand that quickly sold out, prompting the addition of a second evening.

Lush will take the stage at New York’s Terminal 5 Sept. 14, 2016.

At the core of Lush you’ll find childhood friends Emma Anderson and Miki Berenyi.  Along with drummer Chris Acland and Phil King, Lush was founded in 1988 and went onto become one of the pioneers of the “shoegaze” sound.  The band released three full-length albums, a mini album, several EPs and singles.  Acland took his own life following a 1996 tour.  Playing drums in the Lush reunion is former Elastica member Justin Welch.

4AD is releasing a vinyl issue of Ciao!, a best-of collection.  The label will also issue a limited edition box-set called Chorus, arriving Jan. 22 in the U.S.

An Amex presale for the New York show began today and the general onsales start Nov. 13 at 12 p.m. EST.  Head over to LushOfficial.com for more info.
