Hostages At Eagles Of Death Metal Concert Reported

Eagles of Death Metal was to perform a sold-out show at Bataclan nightclub in Paris, the site of a hostage situation connected to multiple armed attacks throughout the city Nov. 13, according to multiple news agencies.

The Associated Press cites a police officer saying around 100 people have been taken hostage at Baraclan. It’s not clear if band members or crew are still inside the building.

According to CNN, witnesses say there are between six to eight attackers, who are currently engaged in a shootout with police.

Eagles of Death Metal frontman Josh Homme, also of Queens of the Stone Age, is reported to have not joined the band on its European tour, according to Consequence of Sound.

As many as four separate attacks, assumed to be terrorism-related, took place concurrently in the French capital on Friday evening, and bombs or grenades were reported to have exploded at or near the Stade de France near Saint-Denis, a Paris suburb. As of post time CNN affiliate BFMTV reported the death toll was at least 60.

A soccer match between France and Germany was taking place at the time, with French President Francois Hollande in attendance. He was evacuated.
