John Lennon’s 75th Birthday Concert

Eric Church, Peter Frampton, Sheryl Crow and The Roots are just a handful of the acts headed to New York City next month to put on an all-star concert to celebrate what would have been John Lennon’s 75th birthday.

The Theater At Madison Square Garden is hosting the Dec. 5 extravaganza that’s being called “Imagine: John Lennon 75th Birthday Concert.”

The lineup also features Steven Tyler, Willie Nelson, The Killers’ Brandon Flowers, Juanes, Tom Morello, Aloe Blacc, Kris Kristofferson, Train’s Pat Monahan, and Chris Stapleton. More artists are yet to be announced.

Gregg Gelfand has signed on as the show’s director. Greg Phillinganes and Don Was are serving as music directors.

The birthday bash is brought to you by Blackbird Presents in partnership with AMC. Producer Blackbird Presents has previously hosted events honoring artists including Jerry Garcia, Johnny Cash, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Levon Helm, Dr. John, Gregg Allman, Mavis Staples, Waylon Jennings and Emmylou Harris.

“It’s beautiful to see so many wonderful and talented musicians come together for this special show to celebrate John’s birthday,” Yoko Ono said. “John’s art continues to give hope, light and happiness to generations of people everywhere. His belief that each of us can change the world continues to inspire the human race to believe in themselves, and his influence is everlasting in everyone’s hearts as we all share in the possibilities and power of music.”

The concert will air exclusively on AMC Dec. 19 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

A presale is ongoing now through 10 p.m. ET. Tickets go on sale to the general public Nov. 17 at 9 a.m. EDT. Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall and The Beacon Theatre box offices will have tickets available beginning Nov. 18. A portion of proceeds will be donated to Robin Hood, New York’s largest poverty-fighting organization.
