Metric Announces ‘I Can See The End’ Tour

Metric has lined up more dates in support of its latest release, Pagans in Vegas, which the band created by simply “making music for the joy of it.” The coast-to-coast U.S. tour kicks off in mid-February.

Pagans in Vegas was released in September, marking Metric’s sixth studio album. The LP includes references to artists that have inspired the group, including Depeche Mode, New Order, The Cure, Underworld and Kraftwerk.

“The songs that made it onto Pagans in Vegas weren’t written with an overarching concept in mind,” guitarist/producer Jimmy Shaw says. “With this record we were making music for the joy of it … we tried to be as bold as possible. All we wanted is to feel like all we got didn’t cost us everything, even if we never win.”

And there’s more music coming. The LP is the first of two that were written during a fruitful period of writing in 2014. Today’s tour announcement points out that as “Pagans reveals itself to be much more electronic and dancey than anything in Metric’s past, the as-yet-unnamed follow-up LP promises to be quite the opposite.”

This week the band unveiled the official video for the Pagans In Vegas track “The Governess.” Check it out below.
