The partnership will program and produce events throughout Austin and surrounding markets including the city’s new Skyline Theater at the Long Center for the Performing Arts. Paragon Presents has signed on as exclusive promoter for the 7,000-capacity, open-air venue, which debuts in spring 2016.

The theater will feature indoor and outdoor VIP areas with balcony-level views of the stage and downtown skyline, indoor restrooms and air conditioned spaces, and will use the Long Center’s existing production team and equipment for concerts. Shows will be ticketed through Spectra and Long Center staff will handle marketing, event services, ticketing and concessions, the companies announced.

“This partnership expands Nederlander’s footprint nationally in one of the fastest growing cities in the country, sharing Paul Thornton’s vision enhancing Austin’s music scene,” Nederlander CEO Alex Hodges said. “We are committed to providing the best experience for the community and artists. Paragon Presents can produce top notch live concert experiences as an independent, hands-on promoter, and we are excited to help debut the new Skyline Theater at the Long Center.”

Long Center CEO Jamie Grant added the Skyline Theater will be “a spectacular complement to Dell Hall, the indoor theater where the Long Center has hosted concerts and events like ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live,’ Tori Amos, Ray Lamontagne, Bon Iver, and Leonard Cohen,” he said

“In the last four years, we have focused on providing exceptional, memorable outdoor experiences as well. … We’re quite confident that Skyline Theater at the Long Center will help us fund even more free outdoor community events and activities and continue to maximize the use of this iconic community gathering place.”
