Tool & Primus in 2016

San Diego, Tulsa, Atlanta and San Antonio are among the markets hosting the sonic splendor of Tool & Primus in January.  Tickets go on sale later this week.

Last week Tool teased fans with the promise of a tour announcement by posting a message on Facebook saying, “For those of you who only like NEWS about TOOL, here’s something that should be of great interest. The impenetrable veil of my dark scrying mirror FINALLY CLEARED today – enough so, in fact – that I could perceive a large heptagram on a complexly lit stage where four performers were dwarfed by dramatic video projections. Evidently the sonic and visual extravaganza that I was receiving is a rare glimpse of FUTURE TOOL U.S.A. TOUR DATES in the month of JANUARY, 2016. However, with some of the images in the depths of the black glass not being clearly distinct… YET, fans will have to keep checking back (SOON) on the Tool websites and Tool facebook page for an official announcement.”

The band added that fans would have to check back for a list of dates, cities and venues because “some of the images in the black glass” were not clearly distinct.

And now the wait is over – at least for the first batch of dates. The tour, which also features 3 Teeth, launches in San Diego Jan. 9. Tool’s Facebook page says “fans should check back soon for more info,” while 3 Teeth is calling today’s announcement just the “first half” of the U.S. tour.
