U2 Reschedules Paris

One of the more high-profile bands forced to postpone scheduled shows in Paris following the terrorist attacks of Nov. 13 was U2.  Now Bono & Company have set new dates for the City of Lights.

U2 was originally scheduled to play the Accorhotels Arena Nov. 14-15.  Those shows will now take place Dec. 6-7.

The vicious terrorist assault on the audience during Eagles Of Death Metal’s performance at the Bataclan concert hall was a nightmare turned reality. Now concerts have joined airports, subways and other locations as targets for terrorism.

“So much that was taken from Paris on the tragic night of November 13 is irreplaceable,” Bono said while in Dublin before U2 launched the first of four nights at the 3Arena in the band’s hometown.  “For one night, the killers took lives, took music, took peace of mind – but they couldn’t steal the spirit of that city.  It’s a spirit our band knows well and will try to serve when we return for the postponed shows on Dec. 6th and 7th.  We’re going to put on our best for Paris.”

Tickets purchased for Nov. 14 will be honored at the Dec. 6 concert and tickets purchased for Nov. 16 will be honored at the Dec. 7 show, which will be recorded for airing on HBO at 9 p.m. EST.  Visit U2.com for more details.
