Dru Hill Releases Song Inspired By Death Of Freddie Gray

The R&B group Dru Hill has released a song online sparked by the deaths of Freddie Gray and other black males as a result of confrontations with law enforcement.

The Huffington Post  made available a two-minute preview of “Change” on its website Monday. The song’s release came on the first day of jury selection in the trial of one of six Baltimore police officers facing criminal charges stemming from Gray’s death.

The song’s lyrics mention Gray, Tamir Rice, Michael Brown, and others. Rice was a 12-year-old black boy fatally shot by police in Cleveland last year. Brown was an 18-year-old black man fatally shot by a white police officer in Missouri last year. Gray died in April of injuries received in police custody.
