No Wakestock in 2016
For the second year in a row the Kilimanjaro Live-promoted event, which has traditionally been staged on the Llyn Peninsula in North Wales, will take a break.
“The unique challenges that Wakestock presented have led to our decision to concentrate on other events for this summer and not plan a festival for 2016,” a spokesperson for the promoter told the Daily Post.
“Other events” include a Stereophonic concert on the Glyndwr University Racecourse Ground in Wrexham on July 2, for which the 20,000 available tickets have already sold out.
The spokesperson left it unclear whether Wakestock was ever to return. It looks unlikely unless it secures “a significant level of investment in terms of time and money.”
