$20,000 Stolen From C3
A former contract employee allegedly stole nearly $20,000 from C3 Presents by making an illegal transfer from a company bank account, according to a probable cause affidavit filed March 4.
Michael Wayne Simms could face up to two years in prison if convicted of the theft, according to the Austin American-Statesman. The affidavit reportedly states that Simms helped an unnamed third party transfer $19,687.50 into the account of a landscaping company in exchange for $2,500.
Simms has admitted he was approached last year and asked to help wire money into the account of Kings Scape, a landscaping business he owns, according to the paper.
After making the transfer to the company account, he allegedly withdrew it and handed all but $2,500 over to the unidentified third party. C3 Presents had no comment on the matter.
