“Pink Floyd: Live At Pompeii” isn’t your typical concert flick.  Filmed in 1971 and released the following year, the film depicts the band performing, sans audience, in an ancient amphitheatre.

Gilmour’s return was announced via Twitter by Pompeii Culture Minister Dario Franceschini.  The concerts will take place July 7-8 at the Anfiteatro di Pompeii.  Gilmour is touring in support of his 2015 Rattle That Lock album.

Gilmour isn’t the only high-profile artist playing the amphitheatre come July.  Elton John is scheduled to perform at the venue July 12.
