The band was riding along Interstate 5 at approximately 4 a.m. when the Reverend himself, who was playing guitar at the time, noticed the bus filling with smoke. The driver, band and crew exited the bus safely to see it go up in flames.

Firefighters were called to the scene and the bus and gear were towed to a safe location, the equipment trailer remaining undamaged.

The band performed that night at Belly Up and is planning on playing all of its scheduled dates. The group rolls its rockabilly stylings to 16 shows in April, including the  in Scottsdale, Ariz., April 8 and the  in San Antonio, Texas April 9.

Heat’s manager Scott Weiss told Pollstar that the fire started in the generator bay, and it is yet to be determined if the generator was actually at fault.
