Venetian Macao Hosting China Awards
The ceremony will be broadcast live on Channel V throughout China and in a number of other Asian countries.
A statement released by the Venetian said the theme of this year’s event is “Initial Dream, Born for Music.” The aim of the ceremony will be to “pay tribute” to those singers who have contributed most to China’s music industry over the past 20 years.
The China Music Awards were first given out in 1994, and over the years have been staged in Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Hong Kong, Taipei and Macau. According to the Macau Daily Times, it is the only Chinese-language music awards show telecast to countries other than China.
