Ticketfly App Seeks To Create Buzz

After being acquired by Pandora earlier this year, Ticketfly has rolled out its new iOS app as part of the company’s plan to connect the streaming platform’s audience with the ticketing service.

The app features a chic design for a simple user experience. It allows for searching, provides recommendations, facilitates fast purchase, gives notifications about upcoming shows and stores tickets purchased within the app.

Pandora purchased Ticketfly for $400 million in 2015 and has since announced plans to use the ticketing platform to connect Pandora listeners to upcoming concerts based on their location and musical preferences.

The goal, The Real’s Dave Brooks reported earlier this year, would be to use the data and technology that facilitates these transactions to give users a better experience and Pandora a leg up on the competition, effectively erasing barriers between music distribution and live concert promotion.

It is not yet possible to purchase tickets through Ticketfly within the Pandora App, but Pandora made it clear at Flycon in January that this is the ultimate goal.

“We are not going to recognize the industry of today, five years from now,” Brooks reported co-founder Tim Westergren saying in his closing address to Flycon attendees. “It is going to look very different, and you guys can sit right on top of it.”
