Peter Frampton & Gregg Allman Co-Bill Gigs

Gregg Allman’s stop in Chicago won’t be the only place to catch Allman and Peter Frampton sharing a bill this summer. The former Allman Brothers Band frontman and the English rock musician have signed on for a run of July co-headline dates.

After wrapping his acoustic RAW tour over the weekend, Frampton returns to the road with his band in May. He tells fans, “We will be all electric and plan to rock your arse!! That’s UK speak for ‘butt’ or, ‘ass’!” Along with his own headline dates, Frampton has a bunch of shows lined up with Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Allman has three dozen dates booked between April and September, including U.S. headline shows, his Laid Back Festival gigs and other festival commitments.

The July 16 Laid Back Fest at Chicago’s FirstMerit Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island features sets from Allman, Frampton, Blackberry Smoke, Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band, Lil’ Ed & the Blues Imperials, Eddy Clearwater, Roomful of Blues, and Rick Estrin & the Nightcats.

A few days later Frampton and Allman take the stage in Cincinnati. Here’s the brief co-bill routing:

July 20 – Indianapolis, Ind., Farm Bureau Insurance Lawn At White River State Park
July 22 – Raleigh, N.C., Red Hat Amphitheater

“I’ve been a huge Greg Allman fan since first hearing the Brothers Live Fillmore album. So this is going be a dream tour. I’ve had the honor of sitting in with The Allmans at their Beacon shows a couple of times and it just doesn’t get better than that,” Frampton said.
