Rapper Fat Trel Accused Of Trying To Use Counterfeit Bills
Washington rapper Fat Trel has been arrested after police say he was accused of trying to pass counterfeit bills at a Maryland casino.
Anne Arundel County police arrested the 25-year-old rapper, whose real name is Martrel Reeves, on Sunday after investigators say he tried to exchange the fake money for chips at Hanover’s Maryland Live Casino.
Reeves, who’s signed with Maybach Music Group and Atlantic Records, is charged with possession of counterfeit currency.
A police report says casino security personnel told officers that a man, identified as Reeves, presented $450 of counterfeit bills to a table pit boss.
Reeves told investigators he got the cash from an ATM at a Washington convenience store and didn’t know it was counterfeit.
The Capital newspaper reports Reeves’ attorney Thomas Mooney couldn’t be reached for comment.
