Tour Welcomes Audience To The Good Life

Indie rockers The Good Life are set to run up and down the West Coast with Speedy Ortiz in a run around North America.

The tour kicks off May 24 in Omaha, Neb. where the band was founded. From there the dates are mostly in the Western States and Texas, and the tour ends in Norman, Okla., June 14. One show in Seattle, Wash. On May 29 will feature La Sera instead of Speedy Ortiz.

The Good Life’s band members are all affiliated with other projects. Drummer Roger Lewis plays with Conduits and Oquoa, guitarist/vocalist Tim Kasher has recorded with Cursive and has solo albums, bassist Stefanie Drootin-Senseney is in Big Harp, and multi-instrumentalist Ryan Fox has done solo material and runs a tape label, Majestic Litter.

The group recorded its most recent album, Everybody’s Coming Down in 2015, and prior to that their last project was Help Wanted Nights in 2007.

Speedy Ortiz was founded in 2011 and released its initial album Major Arcana in 2013, following up with 2015’s Foil Deer, which earned it critical praise.

Speedy frontwoman Sadie Dupuis recently moved away from Massachusetts, where the band was formed and rose to indie fame. She announced the move via the band’s Facebook.

Dupuis also recently collaborated with rapper Lizzo to create a song called Basement Queen in a promotion for Google Docs.
