Southern Rock Vets Caravan Along Coasts

Start growing your beards now: ZZ Top and Gregg Allman are set to rumble their rock stylings together on a North American tour which will take them from the East to West Coasts over a three-month span.

The legendary acts start the outing at the  in Fort McCoy, Wisc. Aug. 20, and quickly move to the East Coast for nine shows, with a performance in Illinois along the way. From there, it will be stops in New Mexico and Colorado, followed by seven in California and one in Vegas, with the final gig slated for  in Rancho Mirage, Calif.

This is not the first time these acts have played together and ZZ Top’s singer/guitarist Billy Gibbons said the band is looking forward to another great tour.

“The history with ZZ Top and Gregg Allman together goes way back to around the time the earth cooled. The double lineup makes for a killer combination so buckle up and let’s have a party,” Gibbons said.

ZZ Top is currently touring Europe, and continues to cement its reputation as a self-described “relentless touring machine.”

The summer/fall run will not feature Allman at every show, so some fans may need to do a little extra driving if they want to get a performance that includes the famed keyboardist and his legendary  repertoire.
