Country Boy Beer Can Honors Haggard With Memorial Date Stamp
One of the company’s owners, Daniel Harrison, told the Lexington Herald-Leader that the workers are country music fans, and when they heard of Haggard’s death Wednesday, they decided to put a message on the cans.
On Thursday morning, a worker added a date stamp on the bottom of Cougar Bait cans that read “R.I.P. Merle.”
Once the Lexington brewery posted a photo of the stamp on Facebook, people started calling and saying they wanted the cans.

There are about 2,800 six-packs of Cougar Bait with the memorial stamp, making their way to stores. Harrison said people can also stop by the Lexington taproom and ask for one.
