Jimmie Van Zant Dies
Jimmy Van Zant, the cousin of the iconic Van Zants of Lynyrd Skynyrd and a guitarist in his own right, has died after years of battling liver cancer.

Van Zant had been awaiting a liver transplant for a few years and there were several benefit concerts in his honor.
He was in hospice care and reportedly died holding hands with his wife.
