NJ Woman Pleads To Fake Concert

The Burlington County Times reports Kelly Bryan pleaded guilty to third-degree theft by deception April 5. Bryan also admitted she advertised the fake concert on Facebook, sold the tickets and booked vendors while operating as KBR Promotions LLC.
Bryan says she was working with a booking company in Los Angeles to get Crow to headline the show but acknowledged there was never a contract in place and she falsely promoted that Crow would perform.
Crow is repped by WME in Beverly Hills, Calif. Bryan faces up to five years of probation when she’s sentenced June 14.
Prosecutors say she’s also expected to be ordered to pay between $20,000 and $30,000 in restitution. The scheme fell apart when local detectives contacted the Flying W Airport to prepare safety arrangements, according to the local paper. During that prep, police became suspicious about the event’s validity and investigated along with Medford, N.J., police – revealing that Crow was never booked to perform. Bryan was arrested and Crow was notified.
She posted a disclaimer on her Facebook page that she would not perform the concert. The post reportedly drew comments from bands and vendors claiming they, too, were duped. Altogether, between 50 and 100 were victimized, Burlington County Assistant Prosecutor Andrew McDonnell told the Burlington County Times. Bryan is expected to undergo psychiatric evaluation and treatment as a condition of probation.
