Survivor Still Going Strong

Survivor opens the next chapter and embarks on a 2016 tour with new lead vocalist Cameron Barton, performing at festivals and headlining shows across the nation.

Survivor released its debut in 1980 but its big break came two years later when the band was asked to provide the theme song for “Rocky III.” The result was the mega-hit “Eye of the Tiger” that won the group a Grammy for Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal, a People’s Choice Award and an Academy Award nomination.

The success continued with the 1984 LP, Vital Signs, which produced hit songs such as “I Can’t Hold Back,” “High On You” and “The Search Is Over.” A year later the band would record another soundtrack hit single, “Burning Heat” for “Rocky IV.”

Barton steps into the role of former lead singer Jimi Jamison who died in September, 2014. Survivor is excited to have Barton bring his powerhouse vocal style to the band’s live shows and begin anew.
