Allphones Arena Becomes Qudos

Sydney, Australia’s  in Australia has rebranded to Qudos Bank Arena, effective April 11. This follows a multi-year agreement with the financial firm between AEG Global Partnerships, the venue’s Australian operator AEG Ogden and its colleagues in London and Los Angeles.

“The multi-year deal ensures the name Qudos Bank Arena will become synonymous with some of the greatest touring artists in the world,” said Paul Samuels, AEG executive vice president of global partnerships.

At 21,000 capacity, Qudos Bank Arena is the largest indoor venue in Australia. Purpose-built for the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games for A$200 million (S$152.1 million), it has presented 1,050 music and sports events to more than 8.6 million customers.

Originally known as the Sydney SuperDome, it also operated as Acer Arena and Allphones Arena. Qudos Bank, the new name of Qantas Credit Union, had the naming rights for the Sydney Entertainment Centre until its closure in December 2015.

Among those scheduled to play Qudos Bank Arena are Black Sabbath and Ice Age Live in April, Iron Maiden, Little May and Nitro Circus in May; Disney On Ice in July; Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and WWE Live in August; Ellie Goulding and Andre Rieu in October; and Keith Urban in December.
