Yes Taps Two LPs for Summer Tour

Yes returns to the North American concert scene with “The Album Series: Drama + Topographic 1 & 4.”  The pioneering progressive rock band begins the trek at the Ohio State Fair in late July.  Tickets for many shows go on sale later this week.

Yes has been celebrating its magnificent collection of albums.  The band launches its U.K./ Europe run later this month with two albums on the setlist – 1971’s Fragile and 1980’s Drama.

Drama is also included on the North America tour.  The LP was the first Yes album not graced by Jon Anderson’s vocals.  Instead, the disc marked The Buggles’ Geoff Downes and Trevor Horn joining the group.

Released in 1973, Tales From Topographic Oceans was Yes’ first studio album to include drummer Alan White.  The four-sided vinyl album featured one song per side. Yes plans on playing sides 1 & 4 from Topographic as well as the entire Drama album from start to finish.

Along with White and Downes, Yes’ lineup features guitarist Steve Howe, singer Jon Davison, and bassist Billy Sherwood.

“We are proud to present the American public with forward-looking albums from the past,” Howe said.  “Promoting Drama at Madison Square Garden on multi-nights was a career milestone in 1980, and we are especially looking forward to performing both the opening and closing sides to Topographic Oceans.”
