Dolly Parton’s Initial ‘Pure & Simple’ Dates

Dates are coming together for Dolly Parton’s “Pure & Simple” trek, which is being called “her first major U.S. and Canadian tour in more than 25 years.”

The legendary country singer announced in March that the tour will feature more than 60 cities. So far, more than a dozen dates have been locked down. The first confirmed stop is a June 3 gig in Greensboro, N.C.

Parton’s website promises that she’ll “delight fans by playing songs they have not heard live for decades.” Of course, she’s going to show off her hit songs too, along with selections from her upcoming album due out this summer.

As the name of the double-disc release implies, Pure & Simple With Dolly’s Biggest Hits, is made up of one disc of “stripped-down new songs with a second one of her most-loved classics,” according to Rolling Stone.

“The tour itself is called Pure & Simple, mainly because it’s kind of scaled down,” Parton told Rolling Stone. “But there’s only four of us on stage, we play different instruments and we all sing and we do all those songs that people know, but they’re just not as big and we don’t have a lot of effects on stage and any of that. We did some shows at the Ryman and at Dollywood with that particular show all scaled down and people loved it. I got the best reviews I ever got.”
