Alabama Spreads Southern Drawl Across North America

Country rockers Alabama are hitting the road to promote their latest album, hitting 25 shows from May to October. The boys will mostly be staying inland, with only a few shows near the ocean in Delaware and Virginia.

The tour opens with a number of performances with the Nashville Symphony Orchestra in Tennessee, joining the country songsters with an 80-piece ensemble May 12-14.

Other destinations include the band’s home of Ft. Payne, Ala., June 26 and a number of shows in Canada, including gigs in Medicine Hat, Alberta and Craven, Saskatchewan.

The band has been around since 1969, and has three Grammys and over 73 million album sales to its name. Its most recent release, Southern Drawl, dropped in 2015.

Prior to Drawl Alabama hadn’t released new music for 14 years, as it concluded its extended American Farewell tour in 2004. Alabama then organized a show for tornado relief in the State of Alabama in 2011, and formally began a reunion tour in 2013.

Randy Owen, Teddy Gentry and Jeff Cook, all founding members, should be performing on the upcoming tour.
