Plans for Jaguars’ Shed Revealed

Architecture firm Populous recently unveiled its designs for the Jacksonville Jaguars’ Amphitheatre and Flex Field project, as part of its larger plans to transform the area surrounding  in Jacksonville, Fla., into an economic hub within the city.

Architecture firm Populous has released artist renderings of the Flex Field facility and amphitheatre to be added to EverBank Field in Jacksonville, Fla.

The 5,000-seat covered amphitheatre and multipurpose Flex Field facility are planned to be added as additions to EverBank Field. Eventually, the vision is that these facilities will host a variety of major entertainment events yearly and are part of plans to make the River District (or Shipyard District) the “city’s new iconic landmark,” according to a video released by the company.

The district, sitting on the bank of the St. John’s River, is the central point of shared plans between Populous, the city of Jacksonville and Jaguars’ owner Shahid Khan. Dates related to construction and opening were not available at press time.
