Soundon Festival Postponed

“Unforeseen infrastructure concerns” are cited as the reason for postponing the Soundon Festival event in Essex from April 30-May 1 to Aug. 13-14.

Soundon Festival is meant to coincide with the 30th anniversary of house and dance music “as we know it today,” the festival’s website states. While the date has shifted, the location remains the same: Essex Sports Village in South Ockendon, Essex.

A statement released by the festival’s organizers says that “due to unforeseen infrastructure concerns with the Essex Sports Village site, it became impossible to have the site ready for the original date.

The welfare of customers and artists is paramount to Soundon and so necessary changes are being made in accordance with event and safety procedures. It wasn’t an easy decision, but we took it in order to give us the time to bring everything up to the high standards we’ve set ourselves.”

Ticket holders will be refunded and offered the option to buy a ticket for the new dates if they can still make it. Some bands definitely won’t, which is why the Soundon team is currently looking for replacements. Lineup updates are said to be coming soon.
