Gurtenfestival Presale Breaks Down

The second wave of presales for Switzerland’s Gurtenfestival, which was supposed to start on April 25 at 10 a.m. on starticket.ch, had to be canceled due to a technical glitch.

Users ended up looking at different customers’ shopping carts although they logged into their own accounts, Swiss news site 20 Minutes reports. Starticket halted the online presale as soon as the glitch became apparent.

The company assured users that no payment details were revealed and that transactions using other peoples’ accounts could not be completed. The glitch seems to affect all sales on starticket.ch, as the website informed users that no tickets can be purchased via the web shop, but only via phone or at the booking office.

Gurtenfestival remains the exception: tickets for the festival currently aren’t even available through offline channels. Gurtenfestival, which takes place July 14-17 in Bern, Switzerland, introduced personalized tickets for the first time this year to counter the secondary market.
