Alabama Shakes Shakes Up September

Alabama Shakes extends its 2016 tour plans with a brief run of September shows featuring Corrine Bailey Rae. The outing includes gigs in Tallahassee, New Orleans and Austin.  

Brittany Howard & Co. are continuing to support their Grammy-award winning sophomore album, Sound & Color. In addition to winning the prize for Best Alternative Music Album, Alabama Shakes won Grammys for Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song for the track “Don’t Wanna Fight.”

The band is spending the next several months playing headline dates and making the rounds at festivals including Hangout, Sasquatch!, Forecastle and XPoNential. The new September shows follow a West Coast excursion in August. Here’s the plan:

Sept. 16 – Portsmouth, Va., Portsmouth Pavilion     
Sept. 20 – Tallahassee, Fla., Capital City Amphitheater At Cascades Park  
Sept. 22 – New Orleans, La., Champions Square
Sept. 23 – Austin, Texas, Austin360 Amphitheater  
Sept. 24 – The Woodlands, Texas, The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion

Corrine Bailey Rae appears on all dates except Sept. 23.
