Having just wrapped up a West Coast run opening for Ellie Goulding, New Zealand’s synth-pop group Broods returns to North America for 23 dates starting late summer.

It kicks off August 1 at the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C., and takes in major markets including New York, Boston, Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, Chicago, Los Angeles, Austin and New Orleans. It wraps Sept. 3 in Atlanta’s Center Stage.

Opening on some dates is Australian singer-songwriter Jarryd James.

The act, comprising siblings Caleb and Georgia Nott, issues its sophomore album Conscious June 22 through Capitol. Executive producer was Lorde collaborator Joel Little, who worked on Broods debut album Evergreen, which took album of the year (along with best group) at last year’s Vodafone NZ Music Awards.

Caleb Nott described the upcoming record as “a punch in the face compared to the last one. Evergreen was very subtle and airy, Conscious really goes for the throat.”

Before hitting North America, Broods will play Australia in July, followed by three arena dates in New Zealand.
