X Re-Zooms

Today’s a great day for fans of seminal Los Angeles punk band X.  Not only did the group reveal its summer tour dates but it announced the return of founding member Billy Zoom.

X announced in July that Zoom was taking a break to undergo treatment for bladder cancer. Today’s message said the guitarist is rejoining X “during chemo maintenance.”

“After a while, you just get over having cancer and you just want to go back to work!” Zoom said.

Before embarking on its summer “X Re-Zoomed” tour, X will join fellow Los Angeles outfits Los Lobos and The Blasters for “Tres Bandas Companeros.”  Destinations are The Observatory in Santa Ana May 6; The Novo in Los Angeles May 7 and Observatory North in San Diego May 8.
