A Very Sumner Summer

Troubadour (whose given name is Gordon Sumner) and actress Trudie Styler, Eliot revealed in an interview with Evening Standard that she does not identify with a specific gender, which lends some insight into how she is able to achieve such a uniquely androgynous vocal style.

Indeed, some singles off the latest album closely resemble the style of her father, although she acknowledged in the interview that she will always have to deal with comparisons to her famous family members.

“I think I’ll always be in the shadow of my parents. But that’s OK. Everyone has a challenge. If I’m proud of the music I am making, that’s all I can ask for. If I put it out into the world, it’s not up to me any more.”
