MMA Promoter Teams With UMG For Concerts
One Championship announced it will collaborate with Universal Music Group to stage concerts of UMG artists, such as Rihanna, Justin Bieber and Kanye West, at One’s mixed martial arts events throughout Asia.
One CEO Victor Cui said April 22, “We’ve always said that the energy of a One Championship event is akin to that of a live rock concert. Now, we are literally putting the two together, bringing the best of the music world to our fans.”
According to MMA Insider, details of the deal are not known, but apparently the concerts envisioned will take place as part of One events in Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia, the Philippines and Indonesia.
Speaking for Universal, managing director Kenny Ong said, “I am excited that we have reached a mutual understanding to explore with One Championship in bringing world-class music to fans using MMA as a vessel.”
