The Boxer Rebellion ‘Ocean By Ocean’

Life is good for The Boxer Rebellion.  The London-based band releases its new album today and will play New York and Los Angeles in May.  Come October the group returns to these shores for a coast-to-coast run.

The Boxer Rebellion’s new album – Ocean By Ocean – streamed on Apple Music for the seven days leading up to today’s release.  Produced by Billy Bush (Garbage, Jake Bugg, Against Me!), the disc is the band’s fifth studio release.

The band recently released the video for the song “Big Ideas,”  filmed and edited by director/animator Adam Avilla.

“I wanted to create a surreal story that flips through a series of memories of a lost love, like images you pass along the road and no matter how far or fast you drive you can’t escape,” Avilla said.

Currently touring the U.K., The Boxer Rebellion plays Glasgow, Scotland, tonight followed by gigs in Leeds, Manchester, London, Bristol and Birmingham before heading to the Continent for shows in France, Netherlands and Germany. The band plays New York’s Mercury Lounge May 17; Los Angeles’ Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Cemetery May 19; and Harrah’s Resort in Valley Center, Calif., May 21.  The Boxer Rebellion launches a full-fledged North American trek in October.
