Asian Fests Add Acts

The Ultra Music Festival set for Seoul June 10-11 has augmented its dance music lineup with deadmau5, Knife Party, Chase & Status, Rabbit in the Moon, and more. The headliners are Afrojack and Avicii. Meanwhile, more than a dozen acts were added to the Fuji Rock lineup for the July 22-24 festival in the mountains of northern Japan: Wilco, Biffy Clyro, DMA’s, Travis and the Avalanches. Summer Sonic 2016 added Flo Rida, The Jacksons, Elle King, Mayer Hawthorne, SWV and Musiq Soulchild.

The festival takes place in Osaka and Tokyo Aug. 20-21. In addition, for the second year in a row, local indie label Hostess will present an all-night showcase of its artists at the Tokyo half of the festival during the wee hours of Saturday night/Sunday morning. Acts include Dinosaur Jr., Animal Collective, Deerhunter, John Grant, Savages, Matthew Herbert and others.
