SWMRS ‘Drive North’
The lads are young and that’s a good thing considering the energy one needs to play “44 shows in 50 days across 26 states and three Canadian provinces,” which they’ve already accomplished this year with more shows scheduled throughout the summer.
The pop-punk band is based in Oakland, Calif., and was formerly known as Emily’s Army under which they released two studio albums. SWMRS debut album Drive North dropped this year via Uncool Records. Fidlar frontman Zac Carper produced the work.
The quartet is made up of Cole Becker (lead vocals/rhythm guitar), Max Becker (lead vocals/lead guitar), Sebastian Mueller (bass/backing vocals) and Joey Armstrong (drums/backing vocals). The drummer just happens to be the son of Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong.
Also they landed at number one on Buzzfeed’s list of “17 Underrated Bands You Need To Be Listening to ASAP.”
