Music + Sport To Bring Live Music To Rugby

London-based Music + Sport company has already brought music to cricket and racecourses.

Events staff wait for play to begin on the fourth day of the second Test match between England and New Zealand at Headingley cricket ground in Leeds, England, June 1.  

Working with The Jockey Club, Music + Sport regularly promotes concerts at the most sacred of British high society pastimes.

“Under the banner of ‘An Evening at The Races’ over 300,000 people attended the company’s horseracing plus music events in 2014,” a company statement reads. Now, the company will try to achieve similar success in rugby.

Jess Glynne is the first act to perform in the new Music + Rugby event series – on June 18 at , where acts including Tom JonesElton John and  played in the past.

Andrew Wilkinson, CEO of Music + Sport, said it felt like “it was the right time to expand into other areas. Adding rugby to our portfolio of sports was a logical move,” referring to the “Cricket Live” franchise, which his company is also behind.
