Dead & Company Announces SF Freebie

Dead & Company will play a free “Pay It Forward” gig at San Francisco’s Fillmore next week.

The show featuring Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, John Mayer, Bob Weir, Oteil Burbridge and Jeff Chimenti is set for May 23 at the historic venue founded by legendary promoter Bill Graham.

The fact that it’s a free show doesn’t mean you can just show up at the venue come Monday.  You will still need tickets, which will be available via Ticketmaster beginning at 12 p.m. PDT May 19.

The band is asking all fans who obtain tickets to pay it forward by sharing their acts of kindness on social media via #DeadAndCoSF.  A donation to worthy causes isn’t the only way to accomplish this.  Sharing good deeds, or time spent helping “make the cosmos a better place” are also methods of paying it forward.

Monday’s pop-up performance at the Fillmore is a prelude to Dead & Company’s summer tour beginning June 10 in Charlotte, N.C. The last stop is Mountain View, Calif., July 30.  Visit DeadandCompany.com for everything you need to know.
