Philippines Festival Deaths Investigated

The five individuals ranged in age from 18 to 36 and included one American national. So far the police are saying that the five persons did not know one another. Though at first media speculated that heat stroke could have been the culprit, police think they are drug-related.
“Heat stroke usually happens when people are exposed to the sun, not the kind of heat that’s produced during a concert,” said Health Secretary Janette Garin.
The NBI found bottles of alcoholic beverages at several locations on the site that may have been laced with local party drugs called “green apple” or “dirty shabs,” according to Interaskyon.com.
Another theory is that the victims may have already ingested drugs when they entered the venue and then started drinking. In that regard, the intense heat inside the venue may have simply exacerbated the problem.
Other media reported that some concertgoers told reporters that drug dealers freely roamed the venue selling an illegal substance that’s a combination of “ecstasy, methamphetamine and Chinese viagra.” The drug has been known to cause heart attacks. Inhalers were also found on the grounds.
