Ain’t No Party Like Bloc Party

Because Bloc Party doesn’t stop touring, it has announced a run of fall North American headline dates to complement its previously announced festival appearances. The tour includes a gig at the  – the band’s biggest U.S. headline show to date.

After playing Europe in June and July, the North American party gets started July 21 in Albany, N.Y. with a free show at . The tour moves west gradually, with multiple shows in the province of Quebec, and eventually lands in Chicago for  July 30 and 31.

Bloc Party then goes back overseas in August for a few festival appearances in Hungary, Belgium and Austria, then returns to complete its U.S. dates on the West Coast in September.

In all, the band is set to play 17 times in the U.S. and Canada this summer, wrapping with a Sept. 25 performance at the Hollywood Bowl.

Bloc Party’s most recent album is, Hymns, was released in January, so the group will no doubt be incorporating its newer music into the sets.

Tickets to the September shows go on sale June 10, but the band’s website seems to be down so your best bet for getting some would be to check with the venues.
