WME / IMG Growing In China
WME IMG has announced a joint venture in an effort to accelerate sports and business growth in China.
The venture is led by venture capital and private equity firm Sequoia Capital China. Also participating are Chinese internet provider Tencent and China-based private equity firm FountainVest Partners.
WME IMG has been expanding its footprint in China, representing leading athletes like Li Na and managing pro golf and tennis events, along with promoting participant events like The Color Run and Tough Mudder.
The joint venture is considered a vote of confidence in WME IMG to continue its impact in China.
