Protest Disrupts Texas Concert
A Tarrant County grand jury took no action against Brad Miller, the police trainee responding to a burglar alarm who killed 19-year-old Christian Taylor at an Arlington car dealership last August. Taylor was unarmed, but an autopsy showed that he had recently used a synthetic hallucinogenic drug and marijuana. Police said he was behaving erratically and failed to follow officers’ commands, the News said.
Surveillance video reportedly showed Taylor jumping on the hood of a car in the parking lot and pulling away its windshield. He also drove his Jeep through the showroom’s glass doors. Miller, who was still in training, was one of six police officers who responded to the scene.
An attorney for the Taylor family urged District Attorney Sharen Wilson June 10 to file charges of voluntary manslaughter or criminal negligent homicide against Miller, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram said.
