Chicago + Earth, Wind & Fire 3.0
Rolling Stone was in attendance at the April 18 show at New York’s Madison Square Garden Arena, the last stop of the co-bill’s spring’s tour.
“The two groups coalesced at the end, effortlessly blending catalogs into one superjam,” Rolling Stone writes. “[Verdine] White, at 64, bounced around the stage, doing 360s with his bass and showing Iggy Pop-levels of energy. By the time the groups ended with EW&F’s ‘Shining Star’ and Chicago’s ‘25 or 6 to 4,’ it was a testament to each band’s enduring catalog, with songs older than half the audience still resonating with vibrant force.”
Prepare yourself for more jams this fall.
“The Heart And Soul Tour” 3.0 kicks off Oct. 19 in Rochester, N.Y., and concludes Nov. 13 in Billings, Mont. This time around the co-bill tour will be making its way to the Great With North.
“Chicago and Earth, Wind & Fire … The Heart and Soul Tour has thrilled audiences across the USA,” Chicago’s Robert Lamm said. “Now it will be an honor to bring this celebration to our fans in Canada, finally! And it’s our honor once again to share the stage with our brothers.”
Earth Wind & Fire’s Philip Bailey added, “The powerful magic of Chicago and Earth, Wind & Fire works for both bands and fans alike. Here we go again!”
