A statement posted on the rocker’s Facebook page Friday morning shared that he collapsed due to severe dehydration and was admitted to the hospital to “undergo routine tests.”

The statement adds: “His vital signs are stable and normal – additional tests are being performed but he is responsive and recovering well.

“He extends his heartfelt thanks for everyone’s support and well wishes, and is expecting a speedy and full recovery.”

One would think he will not be able to perform his next show, which is scheduled Saturday in Cold Lake, Alberta. Currently Meat Loaf is booked for seven shows in in Canada through July 2.

Meat Loaf already cancelled June 11 and June 14 gigs due to health concerns. He has said he suffers from asthma and a condition that causes an irregular heartbeat. He previously collapsed on stage at a 2011 show in Pittsburgh and 2003 in London.
