The four-piece announced about one month’s worth of dates, running from Sept. 22 to Oct. 23. The routing sticks mostly around the Midwest, South and East Coast of the U.S.

Thousand Foot Krutch is playing the first seven dates on the schedule from Clive, Iowa, Sept. 22 to Minneapolis, Minn., Sept. 30. After that, Sick Puppies will join Skillet for the remainder of the tour, until it closes out in Tulsa, Okla. Devour The Day is playing all of the gigs except Oct. 6 in Fort Wayne, Ind., where it will just be Skillet and Sick Puppies.

Skillet is a hard rock/nu metal band that touches on the genre’s standard subjects of angst, frustration and loss, but does it from a Christian perspective. The band has succeeded at incorporating its morality and religious influences in a way which has not alienated less religious/non-religious listeners, and that, along with its consistency in coming up with head-banging anthems and rigorous touring, has given it staying power.

The band played 86 shows last year and is currently in Russia and Eastern Europe. Summer plans for Skillet include appearances at  and .

Skillet has two female members, rhythm guitarist Korey Cooper and drummer Jen Ledger, which is not so common in a genre often dominated by men. Korey is married to frontman John Cooper and Seth Morrison holds down lead guitar responsibilities. A new album, Unleashed, is coming in August and the band has said more dates are also on the way, so don’t get too hot if you don’t see your city in the routing yet.
