Chris Brown Sued By Manager
Michael Guirguis, who goes by “Mike G,” filed suit against his former client in Los Angeles June 23, not only claiming he was hospitalized because of injuries caused by Brown but that the singer even commented about it on Instagram.
“We did everything we could to resolve this in a non-public way to avoid damage to Chris Brown,” Guirguis attorney Patty Glaser said in a statement. “Regrettably, as outlined in our complaint, Chris Brown has proven to be his own worst enemy.”
Guirgus of Nitevision Management claims he was hired by Brown to repair his reputation after the latter attacked his then-girlfriend, Rihanna, in 2009. The two allegedly met in a room May 10 before Brown left for his European tour. Instead of a business meeting, the interaction was an attack by Brown, according to the complaint, with Guirguis allegedly hit four times in the face and neck.
The lawsuit claims Brown boasted of the attack on Instagram, telling tour personnel that he’d beat them “like he did Mike G” if they didn’t fall in line, according to The Wrap.
Brown responded on Instagram, saying, “Ok, you knew it was coming … (expletive) is getting mad and filing lawsuits because I fired them because they’re stealing money! You’re stealing money, pal. So. You’re mad because you’re no longer existent. It’s all right. I’m going to keep pushing. God bless you. Wish you the best of luck.”
“It’s a pathetic reaction to the lawsuit,” Glaser responded. “There is no truth to his claim and Brown knows it. We’ll amend our complaint to add claims for defamation.” Guirguis is suing for assault, batter, false imprisonment, intentional infliction of emotional distress, breach of contract and breach of implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing according to E! Entertainment.
