William Phillips’ ‘Tourist’ Travels

Tourist, a.k.a. William Phillips, embarks on a fall headlining North American trek Sept. 14. The tour includes stops in Chicago, Montreal, Philadelphia and Houston.

London-based Tourist recently dropped its highly anticipated debut album, U, via Monday Records. The songwriter/producer creates electronic dance music with an energetic yet soothing vibe. The release features the singles “Run” and “Too Late.”

Phillips received a “Song of the Year” Grammy in 2015 for co-writing Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me.” Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne were later added to the songwriting credits due to the song’s similarities with Tom Petty’s “I Won’t Back Down.”
