Dutch Festivals Receive Bad Weather Fund
The Performing Arts Fund NL has allocated euro 500,000 for festivals that suffer from bad weather conditions.
All festivals subsidized by either the country’s ministry of education, culture and science or the perennial Rijkscultuurfondsen, the country’s culture fund, can access the money. Its purpose is to make up losses generated by people staying away from a festival and all other unforeseen costs that come with treacherous weather.
Festivals are required to pay back whatever amount they borrow, once their financials are back in shape. The goal is to always have half a million euro worth of reimbursement ready if needed.
