Billy Talent Gets Loud

After appearing with Guns N’ Roses in its hometown of Toronto, Billy Talent has plenty of its own headline dates to play. The rock band has lined up a U.S. tour that begins with a stop at Denver’s Riot Fest & Rodeo.

Marking the band’s fifth LP, Afraid Of Heights is due out July 29 via The End Records. Pre-orders of the album come with instant downloads of the singles “Afraid Of Heights” and “Louder Than The DJ.”

“This record is about struggle, both within ourselves and within the society we live,” Billy Talent said in a joint statement. “It’s about asking questions. It’s about friendship and loyalty and it’s about choosing to not accept things that don’t apply to us. That don’t represent us. It’s about believing in the person that’s reflected in the mirror and taking responsibility. It’s about the pressures that society creates and how we’re all trying to figure out where we fit in. It’s about following your dreams and knowing that when you get knocked down you have to get back up. It’s about listening to our planet and learning to respect her. It’s about love and loss and life… but more importantly it’s about the power of ROCK ’N’ ROLL.”

Billy Talent supports Gun N’ Roses July 16 at Toronto’s Rogers Centre. In August the band has a run of Australian gigs scheduled and a few nights at Japan’s Summer Sonic.
